jazz music festival Not ready to face the chilly weather as the fall season arrives in your hometown? Why not take a trip down to Rehoboth Beach to enjoy the changing of seasons in style? Although the nights get a little chilly, the weather here is still absolutely beautiful along the coast. Best of all, there is plenty of fun – and jazz music – to be had!

From Thursday, October 13 to Sunday, October 16, there are two incredible jazz events for you to participate in while you savor the relaxing fall spirit of Rehoboth Beach. Both the Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival and the True Blue Jazz Series will provide you with a plethora of shows, concerts and one-of-a-kind experiences!

The excitement kicks off on Thursday night, with shows taking place at Cape Henlopen High School and Clear Space Theatre. Jazz legend Patti Austen will step on stage at Cape Henlopen High School, accompanied by Kim Waters, Brian Simpson and Eric Darius. The show begins and 8:00 p.m. and tickets range in price from $59 to $125. Around the same time Gerald Chavis, Jeff Knoetter, Rob Swanson and Webb Thomas will come together at Clear Space Theatre, putting on back-to-back shows at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Tickets cost $22.50 each.

Depending on which of the first night’s festivities better suited your musical preference, you may want to check out the other event’s performances on the next evening, as Friday night is filled with just as much excitement as Thursday! Clear Space Theatre will be welcoming The Eddie Sherman Show featuring Peggy Raley to the stage, while the Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival hosts musical events all around town! Rusty Rudder, The Baycenter and the Performing Arts Theater at Cape Henlopen High School will all be filled with the sound of trumpets, saxophones and smooth jazz crooning.

The same venues (and more) will be hosting musical acts beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, with the celebrations continuing all throughout the evening.
