Looking for an excuse to journey to Rehoboth Beach this fall? Plan your stay at The Avenue around the 25th Annual Sea Witch Halloween & Fiddlers’ Festival. With parades, activities, live entertainment and trick or treating throughout both Rehoboth and Dewey Beach, this unique festival is one of our favorite autumn activities. Festival activities take place between Friday, October 23 and Sunday, October 25.
Friday, October 23
Kick off the weekend of fun at the Tyke Bike Race. Children age eight and under are invited to race down the boardwalk and shoot some hoops with The Delaware 87ers between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Friday. The Choo Choo Express will be running in Grove Park until 6 p.m. as well.
Looking for something your older kids will enjoy? Sussex Family YMCA will be transformed into a haunted schoolyard at 5 p.m. Enter the costume contest, play some carnival games and make some spooky crafts before a movie under the stars at 7 p.m. Food will be available for purchase as well, with all proceeds benefitting the Annual Strong Kids Campaign.
Saturday, October 24
Get your costumes back on and head down to Rehoboth Avenue to watch or participate in the annual costume parade. With local bands, decorated cars, floats and more, this event isn’t one to miss! To join in the excitement, visit Rehoboth Beach Convention Center at 10 a.m. to register and line up for the parade. The festivities begin at 11 a.m. so be sure to find a spot along Rehoboth Avenue early to watch your our town celebrate the Halloween spirit.
After the parade, dance to some bluegrass music at the Fiddlers’ Festival between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Hall or bring the kids to the beach for some old fashioned beach games, starting at 2:30 p.m. From the pumpkin dash to the hula hoop contest, there is something each of your children will love. Get involved in the competitions yourself with the broom tossing contest at 3:30 p.m.
Finish off this spook-tacular Saturday with trick or treating throughout Downtown Rehoboth Beach from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. We can’t wait to see your costumes!
Sunday, October 25
The fun isn’t over yet! The Sea Witch 5K Fall Classic and 1 Mile Fright Walk take place this morning and dog lovers have a chance to see a costumed dog parade down the Boardwalk in the afternoon. A family favorite, the Bag of Tricks Trail can be completed anytime from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visit the Bandstand to get started and follow the trail through Downtown Rehoboth for your sea witch training!
Throughout the Weekend
With a rocking bandstand, hayrides, pony rides and more activities going on both Saturday and Sunday, this is one of the best fall weekends to spend in Rehoboth Beach with your family.
