Independence Day Weekend in Rehoboth Beach

Whether you would like to relax on the beach and watch a firework display, get out and explore the coast or listen to some incredible music, The Avenue has a list of Fourth of July weekend activities for you to try.

Explore Cape Henlopen State Park

There is always an adventure to be had in Cape Henlopen State Park, and the days before Independence Day are no exception. If you are looking for something to do on the Friday or Saturday of your vacation, we recommend heading to the park to do some exploration.

Comb the beach for shells and sea life, visit the tide pools at low tide, get up close with marine animals in the touch tank or go on a historical tour of the area. There is a Cold War Biking Tour, a Battery 519 Museum Tour and a Fort Miles Lantern Tour this weekend.

Independence Day Fireworks

The only thing better than watching fireworks on Independence Day is watching them erupt over the ocean! The Rehoboth Beach Main Street 2016 Fireworks Spectacular will take place on Sunday, July 3 at approximately 9 p.m. and everyone is invited to attend. Join the crowd along the boardwalk to take a seat along the shoreline and wait for the sky to light up in shades of red, white and blue.

There will be live entertainment at the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand before and after the firework display.

Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration

Spend Monday, July 4th playing games, watching boast travel down the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal and cheering as the Doo-Dah Parade strolls through nearby Lewes, Delaware during the city’s Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration.

The festivities begin at 9 a.m. and continue on until 6 p.m. Your children will love morning activities like the annual pie eating contest, and the whole family will have fun when the parade rolls through town at 5 p.m.

United States Navy Concert Band

Wrap up an incredible Fourth of July weekend as you listen to the United States Navy Concert Band perform at the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand Monday night. With marches, patriotic selections and more, this event is one that you will remember for years to come. Admission is free and the band will begin playing at 8 p.m.; we recommend arriving early to get a good seat!
