“Visited The Avenue a few years in a row. It does not matter what room or adjoining building you choose, the rooms are inviting, neat, clean, and fresh. That goes for the rest of The Avenue as well. No wear and tear visible, exquisitely decorated, and a nice sense of calm and relaxation is not an accident. Rates are quite fair by today’s standards for a most pleasant experience. “This hotel is casual elegance. A relaxed setting in a well done upscale coastal decor. The room was spacious, with a balcony, a desk, couch, comfortable sitting chair and spacious bathroom. A terrific landing spot for the weekend, the room was inviting to sit and read and relax on a rainy weekend. The lobby space was inviting, with lots of seating areas, games and fireplace inside and outside. Wine and cheese happy hour and very yummy warm chocolate chip cookies and milk were offered each evening. Gym was spacious and well equipped. The pool is on the third floor indoors with a large deck for the hot tub. We did have a delicious dinner at the Blue Hen in the lobby of the hotel, very convenient for a later night arrival.
